Things to look out for when buying a computer system

What comes to your mind whenever you want to get a Computer System? HP, Dell, Acer, Apple, Toshiba? Well, those are the brand names of the Manufacturing Companies.

Just as the functionality of a vehicle is not a subject of its physical appearance, the size and the shape of the Computer System are not as important as the configuration of the Computer System itself unless you are considering the Screen size. Whether a desktop or a Laptop, the following factors are important things to look out for whenever you want to make a purchase depending on the use the Computer System would be put to.

Computer Systems

Budget

One of the most important things to look out for when buying a computer system is the price. How much are you willing to spend?

Just like Mobile phones, some Computer brands offers at lower prices the same system configuration others would offer at exorbitant prices. This means whatever your budget is you can always get something good enough. No need to sweat it, you can always rub your face with your palm no matter how small it is.

Storage Space or Hard Disk

It depends on the files to be stored on the computer. Documents and pictures take little space. Hard Disk Space ranges from 32gig to terabytes. If you do not have the intention of using or storing games, videos and large applications like programmers and developers, then there is no need for Hard Disk with large space. You can also make use of External Hard Drive just in case you need extra space to store data.

RAM

The RAM or Random Access Memory is required in every computer system. It is the physical hardware inside a computer that temporarily stores data, serving as the computer's "working" memory. Having a high RAM allows a computer to work with more information at the same time and rate. The RAM affects how fast your Computer System access registered data.

Connectivity with external devices

Other devices such as scanners and printers should be able to connect well with your computer. This is where Bluetooth, wifi, and the ports (hdmi, usb, vga, and rj45) come to play. Such features would also affect the price of the Computer System.

Operating System

You can choose between a Windows operating system or Macintosh. Windows is more common and doesn’t cost much. But they’re more vulnerable to malware like viruses and ransomware. Mac operating systems are less vulnerable and usually update automatically with a high-speed Internet connection. It is important to note that Windows Operating System is easier to use than the Macintosh.

Size

Some people prefer larger computers with large screens while others prefer portable ones. It depends on what your preference is and possibly the space where you will be using the computer.

Processor

Check out both the number of cores and the number of gigahertz (GHz) of the computer. Cores determine how fast your computer runs. GHz, measure the amount of power consumed. For example, a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor runs faster than a 2.0 GHz single-core. Your computer will less likely hang or shut down.

Battery life

This applies more to Laptops than to desktops. The more power your computer consumes the shorter your battery life. A good battery can last a long time if you are using your computer for small assignments like typing. Additional assignments such as watching videos or playing games quickly reduce battery life.

The next time you want to buy a Computer System, either for Office or personal use, I believe you now know what to look out for. The important features of a Computer Systems are not found in the brand names but in the Configurations.
